VASERlipo Procedure
VASERlipo sends pulsating ultrasound waves to target areas to generate heat which effectively breaks apart fatty tissue and disconnects it from underlying muscle. During a VASERlipo procedure, Dr. Reis will sedate the patient with anesthesia and begin the treatment by filling the treatment area with a saline solution. He’ll then use the VASERlipo device to send ultrasound energy to fat cells in the target area before removing them from the body using power assisted liposuction.
VASERlipo Recovery
Following a VASERlipo procedure, patients may experience swelling, bruising and discomfort in treatment areas. Like traditional liposuction, patients are provided with a compression garment they need to wear for three months after the procedure. Dr. Reis requires a post-operative series of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massages for all body contouring procedures. MLD helps speed recovery and optimize results. While improvement is visible immediately following the procedure, they will continue to improve over time as swelling and inflammation subsides. Final results can be seen as early as 2-3 months with full results seen approximately 6 months after VASERlipo treatment.
VASERlipo Results
While VASERlipo results are permanent, they can be affected due to weight fluctuations and the natural process of aging. Patients can maintain their results long-term with lifestyle choices that include a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Who is a Good Candidate for VASERlipo?
VASERlipo shouldn’t be relied upon as a weight loss alternative, but is intended for healthy individuals at or near their ideal body weight who are seeking to remove stubborn pockets of fat and precisely contour their figure to reveal muscle tone.
