Cosmetic Injectables Specialist in Houston

There are two general purposes for which Dr. Reis’ patients seek nonsurgical treatment with dermal fillers: to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and to restore lost facial volume. Using one or more products from the Juvéderm and Restylane families of dermal fillers, Dr. Reis is able to achieve remarkable results that help patients look younger and more refreshed while still maintaining the natural movements and unique characteristics of their faces.

What are Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers?

Dr. Reis has achieved consistently stunning results employing the Juvéderm and Restylane families of dermal fillers, both of which are hyaluronic acid-based. Unlike BOTOX® and other wrinkle relaxers that actually stop muscles from contracting to form common wrinkles, these products fill wrinkles and fine lines to give the face a smoother, plumper, and firmer appearance.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) occurs naturally in the body, especially in the skin’s connective tissues. HA attracts water molecules and absorbs them like a sponge, which is why hyaluronic acids are commonly used to “plump up” areas of the face that have lost volume as well as to fill wrinkles and fine lines. The use of HA fillers can also help promote the natural production of collagen, which helps to rejuvenate the appearance of treated areas.

Is treatment with dermal fillers painful?

Depending on the type of filler and the area treated, most patients are able to enjoy the results of their nonsurgical rejuvenation for a minimum of 6 months and up to 24 months.
