This is a 57-year-old woman who had bariatric surgery and lost over 150 pounds. As is typical with massive weight loss, she had excess loose skin that had lost its elasticity and recoil and caused hanging loose skin folds all over her body. To address the upper arm and “batwing” appearance, we performed a traditional brachioplasty, excising all of the excess skin of the arms and used liposuction to smooth the contours with the adjacent shoulder and elbow areas. The incisions healed beautifully and since they’re along the inside of the arms are not visible from the front, back or sides when in the normal resting position, they’re only visible when waving or raising the arms. She has a fantastic result and is so happy and more comfortable with her body now
