Recovery & Results After Earlobe Repair
Upon completing the repair successfully, Dr. Reis and his team will be sure to send you home with clear and helpful after-care instructions. Downtime is minimal and the outer layer of fine stitches placed during the procedure will be removed after one week. Once the earlobe is fully healed, it will be safe to re-pierce the area. Depending on your specific recovery, this can take up to 4-6 months, but typically it is safe to re-pierce within three months. Results should be apparent almost immediately with minimal scarring when after-care instructions are followed closely.
Dr. Reis often recommends Fractional Co2 Laser Treatment to his patients in order to improve the appearance of scars after surgery, as well as Alastin Regenerative Skin Nectar and Skinuva Silicone Scar Gel. And as always, protection from the sun and UV exposure is critical to optimal hidden scaring.
