The Renuvion Skin Tightening Procedure: What to Expect
To ensure your comfort, Dr. Reis performs Renuvion treatments under sedation or general anesthesia. To begin the procedure, he makes several small incisions so that he can use the Renuvion handpiece to apply radiofrequency energy directly to the subdermal tissues under the skin. Once in place, Dr. Reis moves the device across the treatment area to heat the subdermal tissues to cause contraction and to stimulate collagen production. Depending on the area treated, Renuvion treatments can take as little as 45 minutes and yield immediate results. Given the use of small incisions, which are similar to those used for liposuction, these two procedures are typically combined for even more dramatic and long lasting results.
Recovery After Renuvion Treatment
Following Renuvion treatments to the neck, you will need to wear a special compression garment for 24 hours a day in the week after treatment. After this, you should wear the compression garment whenever you are at home for at least six weeks. After Renuvion treatment to the body, you will need to wear a compression garment for six weeks.
It is normal for patients to experience some tenderness and swelling after Renuvion treatment. As the swelling naturally subsides, you will increasingly notice the skin tightening effects of your treatment. Results will be fully visible after six to nine months.
